Mike

Artbank acquires Jones’ soft sculpture ‘Mike’.

‘Mike’ was first exhibited in ‘The Western Front’ exhibition at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery in 2007. Later that year, ‘Mike’ was included in Jones’ third major solo exhibition at Legge Gallery in Sydney titled ‘The Joneses’. ‘The Joneses’ featured a series of soft sculptures and photographs that looked to challenge notions of the traditional family portrait. Made from hand-me-down clothes and recycled blankets, ‘Mike’ is a portrait of the artist’s father.
