Still Life

Olsen Gallery is proud to present ‘Still Life’, an exhibition of new paintings by Alan Jones. For the artist, each composition is an intimate kind of diary entry, a means to document daily life with fragments of images and text. Drawn from the world around him, some of the objects depicted resemble family ephemera, while others celebrate Jones’ recent home garden improvements and house plants. By overlaying these still life prompts with textual excerpts (many borrowed from Netflix phenomena and song titles), Jones creates an evocative dialogue on the canvas. ‘Still Life’ will be current 2-19 June.

Alan Daniel Jones

Alan Daniel Jones is an Australian contemporary visual artist. In 2000, Jones gained his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School in Sydney before furthering his education abroad as a recipient of the 2004 Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship. Jones's work has won multiple awards and has been exhibited throughout Australia, the UK, and Asia.
